Methane Emissions Reduction across O&G Assets
Industry estimates suggest that fugitive methane emissions may represent over 50% of total emissions across the oil and gas value chain. Methane’s (CH4) lifetime in the atmosphere is much shorter than CO₂ but it is 25 times more efficient at trapping radiation than CO₂ over a 100-year period (US EPA).
Consequently, targeting methane emissions reduction from oil and gas facilities and pipelines is a promising opportunity to advance the Net-zero carbon future.
