Who We Are

Northern Crescent is a multi-discipline engineering firm serving all phases of project delivery.

We are a privately-owned engineering company based in Calgary, Alberta, Canada. Our journey began in 2010 with a focused, niche-oriented vision to provide mechanical and metallurgical discipline-specific expertise to our oil and gas facilities and pipeline clients. Having built a solid reputation, our industrial base has broadened to include multi-discipline engineering for oil and gas facilities, chemical plants, fertilizer plants, and industrial and residential buildings.

From conceptualization, design basis and front-end engineering design, to detailed engineering, we are a fully-integrated engineering and project management consultancy, equipped for brownfield and new construction projects.

Our Team

Meet the People Behind Northern Crescent

Adeel Raza, P.Eng.

President

Adeel has over 11 years of experience in design and materials for cross-country pipelines, compressor stations, and aboveground pipeline assemblies including over seven years of experience in stress analysis of large diameter buried pipelines. He is a member of the ASME B31.3 materials subgroup.

Mike de Boer, P.Eng., PMP

VP Projects

Mike has over 20 years of experience in the oil and gas industry working at a variety of Engineering Consultant and Owner organizations. As a respected people and projects leader, Mike’s management and leadership skills create a platform for efficient execution and will have a significant positive impact on your project. His project portfolio includes dilbit pipelines, transmission pumping stations, compressor stations, gas plants and sour gas wellsites.

Merv Clarkson

Senior Project Manager

Merv has over 35 years’ experience in the design, construction, commissioning, operation, and management of energy facilities. This includes sour gas plants, oils separation & treating facilities, power generation, and petrochemical facilities in Western Canada, the USA, Middle East, Africa, Asia, and South America. Merv’s responsibilities have encompassed conceptual design through to project management, construction supervision & inspection, commissioning supervision, development of operations manuals, and operations training.

Omer Farooqi

Business Development Manager

Omer brings nearly two decades of high-impact multinational experience to our team. While working for reputable global brands in the oil and gas upstream / midstream sectors, he has led diverse projects across three continents and has been broadly recognized for his innovative solutions.
Omer’s strong focus on client value extends unique ability to Northern Crescent to integrate solutions and service our clients with a difference.
